Fire Hose Reels

Unlike an extinguisher, a fire hose is connected to the water supply and should only be used to extinguish Class ‘A’ (wood, fabric or paper-fuelled) fires. Being connected to the main water means it has an endless supply to counter the flames, which can significantly stop the fire from spreading and causing further damage to your assets. It is not recommended to be used on other types of fires fuelled by oil, petrol or electricity.

Like most fire safety equipment, regular testing and maintenance are essential every 6 months to ensure the hose will work when required, and to keep up with Australian regulations. Failure to comply can lead to building insurance claims being refused.

Outsourcing the maintenance of your fire hose reel is a guaranteed way to keep within regulations and know that your equipment is up to standard, should it ever be needed. We are able to service and test your hose reels to give you that peace of mind.

Our technicians will check the location of the hose, surrounding signage and instructions, the condition of the hose and fixtures, the connection to the water supply as well as any leaks or identifiable damage. We tag the hose and keep maintenance records then schedule our next visit well in advance.

If you want to ensure that your fire hose meets the Australian regulation standards, get in touch with us today.
